Question: Bill Noface with Thirst and Train Arrival

Hi,

this is my first post here (maybe the first post on this forum?)

My question is about Bang + Dodge City + High Noon

Dodge City FAQ 16 says:
D16. How many cards Bill Noface draws when he has 2 life points and Thirst or Train Arrival
are in play?
R. If the Thirst is in play, Bill Noface draws 3 cards. With the Train Arrival, he draws 5 cards.
It sounds strange to me, since when Bill Noface has 2 life points (2 injuries), he normally would draw 3 cards (1 + 2). So I expected him to draw 2 with thirst and 4 with Train ...

What do you think about?

Bye

Liuk

Hi nice to meet you here

My answer is that [b:597255391c]you have right[/b:597255391c], i find something simmilar in High Noon FAQ

Q6. How I have to play with Kit Carlson when there is the Train Arrival or the Thirst in play?
A. If the Thirst is in play, Kit Carlson looks at the first three cards, but he draws only one of them:
he must place the other two on the top of the deck, in the same order he drew them. If the Train
Arrival is in play, he simply draws three cards (technically speaking, he looks at the first three
cards, places one of them on the top of the deck… and then draws that card, too).

So what you think?

Hi, nice to meet you!

First of all I have to congratulate with you, for the excellent site!

The response to Q6 High Noon FAQ seems correct to me:

Let's say that with thirst you have to draw one card less, and with train one card more.
Kit Carlson keeps his ability unchanged so first he looks the first three cards, then
with THIRST he keeps only one instead of two
whilst with TRAIN he can keep two cards and put the remaining card on the deck, but then he can draw one more ...

P.S. For me it's very difficult to find people to play with, and today I was very happy to discover on the site the rules to play alone!!! :D

Thx for congratulation,
the clue is in simmilarity of Q6 to your first question.
Bill Noface with 2 life points normaly draws 3 cards, when comes to game Thirst, he is drawing only 2 cards and in case of Train Arrival he draws 4 cards, just like you say.

Thirst - Each player only draws his first card, not the second one, during phase 1 of his turn

So Bill Noface draws still 1+2 if he has 2 life points ?

this is right

Bill Noface [b:2f8507b8b1]always[/b:2f8507b8b1] draws 1 card for each life point lost due to his ability + he draws the "normal" 2 card which become 1 with Thirst and 3 with Train

normal 2 + 2
Thirst 2 + 1
Train 2 + 3

normal 2 + 2

Train 2 + 3[/quote:2bb9abeea9]

But the rules about Bill says that:
,,He draws 1 card, plus 1 card for each wound he has."

so not 2+missing life pooint but 1+missing life point.

so if he has 2 missing life points
normal: 1+2
train: 1+1+2
thirst: 1+2 ? (cause ,,Each player only draws his first card, not the second one, during phase 1 of his turn") so first card + 2 or just first card or ?? :)

Sorry I'm obviously in fault, I was meaning only 1 as "normal" of course

Again, Bill with 2 life points:

normal 3 = 1 (bill) + 2 (wounds)
thirst 3 = 1 (bill or thirst, it's the same) + 2 (wounds)
train 5 = 3 (train) + 2 (wounds)

Ultimately Bill is not affected by thirst at all, cause we can say he is always thirsty :P while he gets benefits by train

yop i agree. but not about train.
citation: ,,Train Arrival - Each player draws one extra card at the end of phase 1 of his turn."

so bill noface's phase 1 is about 1card+missing life points
so in situation with 2 missing life points during train i think is
1card+2cards for missing life point+1additional card for train.
yes ?

btw. dodge city faq says that during train noface draws 5 cards.

Actually I was referring to this FAQ.
My personal thoughts are similar to yours (and it's the rule used by my Bang group), but there would mean the FAQ is wrong. Only Emiliano can solve the matter, hoping he will surf this forum once again

You are right folks, the FAQ is wrong on this topic!
Sorry for that, I am correcting the whole FAQ issue and new FAQs will show up soon.
To sum up:
Bill Noface with 2 life points = 2 wounds = 1 normal card + 2 extra cards = 3 cards
Ditto, with Thirst: 3-1 = 2 cards
Ditto, with Train Arrival: 3+1 = 4 cards.

ouch... it seems summarize Bill's ability is very hard...

did you mean:

Normal 3 (1 normal card + 2 extra wounds)
Thirst 3 (1 normal card + 2 extra wounds)
Train 4 (1 normal card + 2 extra wounds + 1 extra card)

Actually Thirst says "draw only the first card, not the second" and not "decrease cards number by one" ... :?
