The order of drawing

Příspěvek od LucHuang »

There are several events which trigger card drawing from deck:

1. Play Dodge/Bible out of turn
2. Suzy Lafayette draws one card when she has no cards in hand
3. Molly Stark (or Vera Custer who plays Molly Stark) draws a card when she plays/discards a card out of turn

4. Eliminate an outlaw
5. Herb Hunter draws 2 cards when another player is eliminated
6. Vera Custer draws 2 cards when another player is eliminated and she plays Herb Hunter
7. Bart Cassidy draws a card when he loses one life point
8. Vera Custer draws a card when she loses one life point and she plays Bart Cassidy

When more than one of these events happen, who should draw first? Consider the following situations:

a. When Suzy Lafayette discards Dodge which is her last card at hand, should she draw one card (i.e. Dodge is dealt with first) or two cards (i.e. her special ability works first)?
(Btw, does Suzy Lafayette's ability apply to Dodge/Bible/Sombrero/Iron Plate/Gallon Hat too?)

b. When player A eliminates an outlaw (event 4), and another player B is Herb Hunter (event 5) or mimics Herb Hunter (event 6), who draws first? What if both Herb Hunter and fake Herb Hunter are in the game?

c. When a player plays Indian or Gatling which causes more than one of the 8 events happen, which ones are taken care of earlier than the others?

Thanks a lot!

Your question is more complex than the depth of current rules :-)

So my answers are a mix of commons sense and common practices.

a.
She draws just one card, because in general card execution is considered "atomic" in this game, that is, no game events are generated and the game status is not checked during the execution (resolution, if you know ather card games ... ) of a card. This means that she draw the card due to Dodge before tha game sees that she has no cards in hand.

b.
The rewards for killing Outlaws are paid generally AFTER the character abilities effects.

c.
The turn order is followed, starting from the player whose turn you're in.

Following with the "C" point from lucabil post, the order of the drawing is the usual of the game (like if you were playing "Emporio").

If there are "two" Herb Hunters, the fake one is as legal as the real one. In this case, the usual order of drawing applies, and the follower one draws first.

Offical rulings follow lucabil's guidelines.
