Srab, what if she plays a duel and a bang then the opponent of the duel plays a bang. Now, she has no cards! Can she draw another card in hope of picking up another Bang! card before the duel ends?

not even for a Duel

Příspěvek od cober »

Nope, she can't - the FAQ:

Q22. Slab the Killer plays a BANG! against Suzy Lafayette, who has a Missed! as her last card. After Suzy Lafayette played the Missed!, can she draw a card when she remains with no cards in hand (and hopefully play another Missed!) before the shot hits her?
Yes.

Q24. If Suzy Lafayette plays a Duel, which is her last card, can she draw another one before the Duel ends?
No, she must wait until the end of the Duel.

Q25. What if Suzy Lafayette hits El Gringo with her last card?
When El Gringo loses his life point, Suzy Lafayette draws a card because she has no cards in his hand. Then, El Gringo draws that card from Suzy Lafayette. Now Suzy Lafayette is again with no cards in hand, so she draws another card.

About Q22, i think it should not be like this with Suzy.

When someone play a bang! card against you, you must play a missed! card in order to avoid the shot. When Slab The Killer play a bang! card against you, you must play two missed! card at the same time to avoid his shot (the card says that you need two cards instead of one, and i guess it should be played at the same time). If you have not the two cards, you get injured an lose a hit point bullet as normal.

In this case, if Slab The Killer fires at Suzy, she needs (like the other characters) two missed! cards in hand (or a missed and a barrel), and she can't play only one missed! card even if it is her last card in hand.

What happens if the second card is not a missed one? Is it played but doesn't work? Is it come back to Suzy's hand and the other card is discarted?

Note that barrels are exceptions to the rule of avoiding bangs.

I totally agree with Spaghetti here. If you don't have a barrel and only 1 missed card in hand, you can't dodge Slab's bullets, not even with that 1 card and hope you draw another Missed! - card

I don't get the problem... Q22 is clear enough, Suzy can play her last card (a Missed!) and pick another card from the deck: if it is a Missed! she can avoid Slab bang, if it is not, simply she keep the card in the hand and loses one life point. All this according to the official rules specified through the FAQ, no matter about "timing" of the game, and in this case about Slab bang.

I still find that a silly ruling.

I wrote it in another Thread ...

Q22 is clear, and for sure not silly, just a bit but out of the general sense of other rulings ...

This came up in our last game...

Suzy has one card left which is a dodge card. Someone bangs her. She uses her dodge card. Does she draws one or two cards?

She draws one card.

Before to check how many cards Suzy have, you must wait the end of the effect of the card: you play the dodge and draw one card; then you check Suzy card numbers (already one so you don't active the ability).

The same if Suzy plays General Store as last card: she takes the card of the G.S.; then you make the check (already one so you don't active the ability). Pony Express, Wells Fargo etc.: same rule.

Why would she want to dodge a bang? :D

Can Suzy Lafayette die with no cards? For example, if she loses a duel and has no cards in her hand, does she get to draw another card in the hopes that it is a beer?

nice case  I think it may happen only with the duel, the answer should be YES since she has to wait the effect of the duel (so she die) before to draw
